Layla is very talkative, but perfectly sociable. She’s very happy in the company of people, and will sit just inches from you without creating any sort of a fuss. She’s a beautiful bird, and those bright yellow eyes really spark the imagination. There’s a charm to owls that I never fail to appreciate, and I feel truly privileged that my work brings me into close regular contact with them. Mind you, when you see them hunt, you feel quite grateful that you’re not a small rodent.
