Day 63: A last look at Rome

With today being our last day in Rome, we took a more relaxed approach. However, we decided that the best way to finish our trip was with a view of all of Rome, and what better place for that than the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica?

The trip up was rather claustrophobic, and as you reach the top you have to lean hard over to one side, as the corridor arcs with the wall of the dome. It’s worth the trip though, as the views are fantastic.

Another image after the jump…

The views inside are as impressive as the views outside. I’ve seen loads of images of St. Peter’s interior, but nothing quite prepared me for the scale of the place. I’m not sure anyone could do it justice. But that didn’t stop me trying.
