Day 337: Beamish engineer

My fiancee was pretty insistent on us visiting Beamish on our way north. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn’t anything of the scale which the “living museum” actually encompasses. There are a couple of hamlets preserved very much as they were a few hundred years ago, and we had a really fantastic day looking through all the vintage shops in the village. This gentleman worked on one several old modes of transport, this one being an old steam train. I’d highly recommend a visit, and seeing as your admission price gains you entry for a full year, we expect to visit the place again nearer Christmas.
