Today Rotherham received the Olympic Torch, which is certainly one of those once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. When you think about it, it’s really quite remarkable that it will pass within 1 hour on a staggering 95% of the country’s population. Imagine America trying to do the same!
This is 23-year old Tom Brennan, who carried the torch into Dalton on its way towards Doncaster. From his nomination letter:
“He has helped inspire and motivate others in the community to take up sport and is known for his commitment and positve attitude. Despite Tom’s busy schedule he also works in a voluntary capacity at his local hospice shop and acts as a ‘welcomer’ in his local church. Tom always has time for people. He is very well known by young and old in his local area of Woodseats, Sheffield.”
